Hamburg, Germany – At an unrelated event, long time U2 collaborator Anton Corbijn announced that a film about the 2017 Joshua Tree tour is almost complete, and will be released in 2019.
Corbijn is directing the film.
Speaking to reporters, he said the film would be released in 2019, that it was a concert film, not a documentary, and that there would be pieces at the beginning and at the end that were different.
Anton Corbijn: “U2 – yeah, that’s sort of in the finishing stages. And that should be released in 2019. It’s a concert film with bits at the front and bits at the back that are different.”
