Bono voices “Eden (to find love)” for “Citizen Penn” Movie

May 20th 2021

Bono has collaborated with Linda Perry to release a new song, “Eden (To Find Love),” which will be part of the soon-to-be-release soundtrack for the 2020 documentary, Citizen Penn. The soundtrack will be released on Friday May 21st, but the track is already streaming on U2’s official youtube channel.

“Eden (To Find Love),” is a co-written and co-produced song by the two artists, a folksy tune with a light guitar touch and a soft drum background, complimenting Bon’s understated vocals.

The video combines Bono speaking directly to the camera combined with found-footage style excerpts from the movie Citizen Penn, which documents Sean Penn’s humanitarian role in Haiti in the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake that devastated the nation.

“‘This is an extraordinary document of an extraordinary man’s work, putting not just his brain but his body in the way of various injustices,” Bono said. “For all the gravitas, the dude still cracks me up! In this song I play God and Sean plays Adam, having explained that it was me not Eve who got us thrown out of the Eden… or something like that. Linda helped me strip this all right back, and I even got our daughter Jordan on backing vocals. It’s a family affair.”
