U2 to build Exhibition Center in Dublin

Dublin, Ireland – Long time U2 business partner Harry Crosbie,  Golden Brook Limited and MHEC Ltd have announced plans to build a three-storey U2 exhibition center and adjacent hotel at the site of the bands Hanover Quay recording studio.

The band and has a complicated history with studio space in Dublin, which includes being forced to sell their space at Hanover Quay in 2002 and buying it back in 2014, being involved in the forced relocation of Windmill lane and being unable to prevent the original Windmill Lane from being demolished.

Tentatively named the “U2 Rock and roll museum”, the space will feature never seen before band memorabilia. The adjacent hotel will be called “Number 9”

We don’t know a lot about what’s included in the museum, but it will include what the Irish Independent calls “a reconstruction of the bands original studio”.

More to come…..
