U2 Set to Play Saturday Night Live on December 2nd

Over 3 weeks ago it was reported that U2 would play Saturday Night Live on December 2nd to coincide with the December 1st release of Songs of Experience. This has now been confirmed as SNL just announced during their November 18th show that U2 would be the musical guest on December 2nd’s show with host Saoirse Ronan.

As mentioned in our last article, this will be U2’s first appearance on the show since 2009 when they played SNL to promote their then-new album No Line on the Horizon. They will likely play at least two songs, most likely “You’re The Best Thing About Me” and either “Get Out of Your Own Way” or “American Soul.” No word yet on whether or not any of the band members will participate in a skit as musical guests sometimes do.

This will likely be a busy few weeks of promotional appearances for the band in addition to other routine appearances. For instance, Bono has previously participated in multiple Jimmy Kimmel RED special fundraiser shows during the month of November (no word yet on whether or not there will be one this year, but we’d be surprised if there isn’t), so it’s possible that there will be a tie-in with the new album and the RED special later this month.

As always, Talk U2 will help you to keep on top of the latest U2 news & rumors.
