Eli Hewson plays first concert – Bono sneaks in

Dublin, December 15th – Last night, Bonos eldest son Eli Hewson – the male face on the cover art for Songs of Experience – joined the rest of the members of his band Inhaler on their stage debut in Dublins trendy Button Factory venue. The location is home to Dublins Rock and Roll wall of fame – which features U2 as it’s centerpiece. Inhaler played an 8 song set featuring a combination of original material and covers. They opened with Joy Divisions Love will tear us apart before giving a raucous crowd their take on Echo and the Bunnymen’s Killing Moon. Given that Echo lead singer Ian McCullough has made many a headline with over the top criticisms of U2, the Bunnyman cover might have been an inside joke on Eli’s famous ‘old man’, who attended the show but stayed away from the main floor, preferring to let his son and band take the spotlight.

The four-piece closed their set with their first recorded song, I want you.
